FAQ:

WHAT IS YOUR STYLE OF PHOTOGRAPHY?
If you’ve been shopping around, you’ve probably heard many different names being thrown around, such as traditional, documentary, photojournalistic, editorial, etc. Hopefully you’ve done your homework and understand the differences between these styles and how they will apply to the flow of your day. But keep in mind that most photographers don’t always fit into one category. Every photographer has their “own eye” and their personal style maybe a blend of popular styles. For me, I prefer to tell the story of the wedding day, much the same as documentary photography, or wedding photojournalism. I am a member of the wedding photojournalist association and I have a deep respect for the art of reality photography on the wedding day. I do not like to be a part of the wedding or control it’s flow. I prefer to be invisible, capturing all the action and emotion that make up your individual story. No two weddings should ever look alike because everyone’s wedding is different. Everything you see on this website is a real moment in someone’s life that has actually unfolded and each image tells it’s own story. Very little posing is done, set up or fabricated in any way.

WHAT ABOUT FORMALS? DO YOU TAKE THESE AS WELL?
Yes, but only to a certain extent. My goal is to tell the real story of your day but I can understand the desire for a formal portrait of the wedding party, as well as a portrait with your family. In order to keep the day flowing, and not let the “formals” eat into your precious schedule, I do limit the amount taken to just immediate family, and wedding party. No other formals will be taken.

CAN YOU HOLD THE DATE FOR ME?
Yes, with a signed contract and retainer. If you don’t want to loose the date, you may want to schedule a meeting to come talk with me, look over some samples and then decide if you want to book. Otherwise, the next person to call about the date,  may book it before you get a chance to.

I’M READY TO BOOK, WHAT DO I DO?
E-mail me to schedule a meeting. We will discuss your wedding needs and my services. I will show you some samples and if we both feel we are a good match, we will go into contract with each other and the date will be yours when you walk out the door.

HOW MUCH IS REQUIRED TO HOLD THE DATE?
$500. Is required as a retainer to hold the date. A retainer is a non refundable deposit, so if you cancel it will not be returned. The retainer is paying me to turn down other brides who may have wanted to book the same date. Your second payment (half of the balance) is due 2 months before the wedding and your final payment is due one month before the wedding.

WHAT ABOUT BRIDALS AND ENGAGEMENTS?
Ah yes, two of my most favorite things to photograph.  See the engagement/formal section.

DO YOU TRAVEL?
Sometimes. I usually don’t travel during my busy season. My area includes the Northwest portion of Alabama. But during slower months I may travel to other parts of Alabama, southwestern Tennessee and Northern Florida.

WHAT DO I GET IN MY PACKAGE?
You’ll get me to shoot the wedding for a set amount of hours. You get an 8x10 (6 images to a page) proof book, a high resolution CD/DVD of all finished images, and a password protected web gallery for 1 month so all your guests can view and order any image they want from your wedding day. No enlargements, albums or other products are included.
